How to Make a US TikTok Account From Abroad

To make a US TikTok account from outside the US, connect through a US internet address before you open the signup screen. TikTok sets a new account's country or region at signup, from location information such as the region of your SIM card or your IP address. You can create a US TikTok account this way from Pakistan, Nigeria or anywhere else, but it will not make you eligible for TikTok's US creator payouts.

What makes a TikTok account "US"

TikTok's account region help page says that when you sign up, it collects information about your location, such as the region of your SIM card or your IP address, and uses it to set the country or region on your account. Those are examples, not a complete list.

TikTok sets the region at signup. After the account exists, its region changes only through a separate process that TikTok controls, covered in How to change your TikTok region. TikTok does not publish how the account region or your connection affects who sees your videos.

Before you sign up

• Connect first. TikTok collects your IP address at signup. Connecting after the account exists does not change the region it was given.
• Check the address. Open any "what is my IP" site. It should show a US location and a consumer internet provider, not a hosting or cloud company.
• Know what your SIM card says. TikTok names the SIM card's region as a signal. A phone with a Pakistani or Nigerian SIM card still carries that region, and no connection changes it.
• Pick phone or email. TikTok lets you sign up with either. Its account region page does not mention the phone number's country.
• Device language and time zone. TikTok does not list them among the signals it uses for the region. They are still part of how your phone looks, and a connection changes none of them.

Step by step

2. Check your IP address as above, before you open TikTok.
3. Open TikTok and tap Sign up.
4. Look at the country or region at the bottom of the signup screen. If it shows the United States, continue. If it shows another country and TikTok lets you tap it, select the United States.
5. Finish signup with a phone number or an email address.
6. Check the result: Profile, the menu button, Settings and privacy, Account, User Information, Account region.
7. Stay connected whenever you use this account, so it sees the same US address every day instead of your local one.

What a US account gives you, and what it does not

A US account is registered in the US, and TikTok notes that terms, policies and available features can differ by country or region. With a static US address behind it, the account also sees one consistent network location instead of a mix of countries.

It does not make you eligible for the Creator Rewards Program. TikTok's eligibility page says you must be based in one of the listed countries and have an account registered there, be at least 18, and have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Why a free VPN is a poor start

A free or regular VPN puts you on a US data-center address shared with many other users. Data-center address ranges are publicly registered to hosting companies, so the connection is easy to identify as not a home connection. Many services also move you to a different address, often in a different city, each time you reconnect.

For a new account whose region is set at signup, that means starting on an address that does not look like a person at home, and that changes afterwards. Making a US TikTok account from Pakistan or Nigeria

The method is the same from any country: connect first, check the address, sign up, check the region. Two things come up more often from Pakistan and Nigeria.

The first is monetization. Neither country is on TikTok's list for the Creator Rewards Program, and a US account does not change that, because the program looks at where you are based. The second is buying accounts. Searches for a "free" or ready-made US TikTok account lead to sellers. TikTok's Terms of Service forbid using another person's account without TikTok's authorisation and creating a false identity, and a bought account keeps the history of whoever registered it.
